Lesson Plans Week 1 Week of August 24, 2009
Week 1, Week of August 24
- Students will discuss their expectations for academic curriculum and behavioral standards. We will study characteristics of good learners, good students, and good citizens. Teacher will explain new discipline plan, consequences, and reward system. Parent will look for copy of plan to come home. Keep plan, but send back signature page by Friday at the latest.
- Monday Visit library to pick out individual AR books on 5.5 level, worth 5 points. Set up pages to be read per day in order to read book by chosen date. First six weeks AR due date September 10.
- Discuss what is considered uncooperative, disrespectful, and disruptive in various settings. Students will work out skits to represent understanding of academic and behavioral expectations. Students will be graded on participation and attitude toward learning the concepts.
- Students will journal daily through this project to show growth and clarity gained. Journal entries will be mandatory. They need to show effort in answering teacher prompts, be neatly and clearly written, and be formatted as teacher asks.
